UNDERSTANDING TOOLS

Introducing Basic Tools
in workshop that you would be using the most and also help you work through different shapes and edges.

METAL SHEET CUTTING MACHINE

Sheet Metal cutting machine could cut big pieces of metal sheets into smaller pieces in order to work in size you needed

SERIES OF DOLLYS

~

MUSHROOM STEEL DOME DOLLY

Small Size             Bigger Size

Mushroom Steel Dome Dolly could bring edges down into curves

By hitting it downward motion with Straight Pein End Hardwood Hammer to bring in curves

TAPERED STEEL T-DOLLY ANVIL

T-Dolly has both bigger round edge to it and small round edge on the other end

T-Dolly could bring in edges to much smaller scale like the shape in images

BOSSING MALLET AND SAND BAG BASE

Bossing Mallet and sand bag base are great set that could help you start everything in initial shape as it could hammer any shape or any curves or angle in much freestyle ways

Also remember sandbags could be knead in any shape that could support you to hammer the metal sheet down into your initial shape

~

HAND LEVER SHEAR

Hand Lever Shear could cut down edges close to your shape that could help you work through curves and edges easier

~

SANDING ROD / FINER

Sanding Rod/Finer could fine down edges to a smoother surfaces and avoid cut to hands

Mis-cuts and splits could be fine by the sanding rod

It is also a good choice and safe to place metal sheeting in the fixed clamp so you could use two hand to hold the finer and fine down any split edges

ENGLISH WHEEL

English Wheel are my favourite tool/machine that are very easy to work with and gets the best clean result from it. It helps you flatten any lump edges from the hammer mark. It smooths all surfaces and any directions and angle just the matter of changing to a different wheel in the wheel sets. As well as good with Striking and Expanding surfaces.

The most used wheel are this flat wheel that could help you flatten any lumps in flat surfaces

There are also round wheel that work perfectly with round surfaces

SERIES OF TIMBER PIECES

Wood pieces are very useful as in making more smaller shapes, as wood pieces could cut down into different kind of shapes to match yours model needs

Different angle to suit you needs

Positioning the wood pieces in the fixed clamp to place or in any angle that will suit you need
Then hammer the metal sheet in downward motion as shown in photo with Straight Pein End Nylon Hammer

However as i have written here it is not all the way of uses for all kinds of hammer. It could be used in various ways, please don't limit the hammer, experiment with the hammers let it show you which are the best shape that could help you exceed your shape
